Connecting Google Analytics 4 (GA4) gives Opteo access to what happens on your website after someone clicks an ad, like sessions, engagement, and conversions. Google Ads shows what happens inside the ad platform. GA4 shows what happens after the click.
There are two places you can connect GA4 in Opteo: on an Account Group, and on an individual ad account. They are separate connections and power different things, so it's worth knowing which one you need. You can set up either, or both.
Connect GA4 on an Account Group
A GA4 connection on an Account Group is available to every ad account in that group.
Each ad account needs to belong to a group for this, so if you haven't created one yet, you'll do that first.
Go to the Account Centre.
If your ad account isn't in a group yet, scroll to the bottom, click Create Group, give it a name, and add your ad account. For more on groups, see the Account Groups guide.
Find the group and click Group Settings on the right.
Scroll to the Google Analytics section and click Connect Analytics.
Choose the Google account that has access to your GA4 property.
Select the GA4 property and data stream you want to connect.
Confirm to finish connecting.
What this powers:
GA4 data in AI Chat.
Connect GA4 on a single ad account
You can also connect GA4 inside an individual ad account's Settings. This is a separate, per-ad-account connection, set up and managed independently from the Account Group connection.
Open your ad account in Opteo.
Click Settings at the bottom of the left navigation.
Scroll down to the Google Analytics section.
Click Connect Analytics.
Choose the Google account that has access to your GA4 property.
Select the GA4 property and data stream you want to connect.
Click Connect to Opteo.
You can connect one Google Analytics account, property, and data stream per ad account. To change it later, Edit the connection or Disconnect and start over from the same place.
What this powers:
GA4 enrichment of this ad account's performance data (sessions, engagement and bounce rate) used in the N-Gram Finder tool.
Not the same as linking GA4 to Google Ads
Connecting GA4 to Opteo is different from linking Google Analytics to your Google Ads account.
The Google Ads link is set up inside Google Ads or Google Analytics Admin, and it's what the Integrations section of your Scorecard checks. It doesn't connect GA4 to Opteo. For that connection, see Scorecard: Integrations.
