The Changelog is a complete history of every change and action taken in an ad account through Opteo. Every Improvement applied, Issue resolved, tool used, and setting changed is logged here, alongside any notes your team adds. If you ever need to know what changed, when it happened, and who did it, this is the place to look.
You'll find the Changelog in the account sidebar. It works across all connected platforms: Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and TikTok Ads.
What's in an entry
Entries are grouped by day, with the most recent at the top. Each one shows:
When it happened, with a timestamp
Who made the change. This is the team member who took the action, or Opteo when the change was made automatically
What changed, with before and after values where relevant (for example, a status moving from paused to enabled, or a budget going from $50.00 to $100.00)
Which campaigns, ad groups, or keywords were affected
A button to jump straight to the related feature, such as Open Improvements or Open Scorecard
What gets logged
The Changelog records every action taken through Opteo, whether made automatically by Opteo or by a member of your team:
Improvements applied
Issues resolved
Scorecard actions
Account Manager, N-Gram Finder, and other Toolkit tools
Account Settings changes
System actions, such as the account being imported or connected
Notes added by your team
The Changelog only records actions taken through Opteo. Changes made directly in Google Ads, Meta Ads, or another ad platform won't appear here. For those, check the platform's own change history.
Common ways to use the Changelog
See what Opteo has changed automatically. Set the User filter to Opteo to see every change Opteo made on its own.
See what a teammate changed. Set the User filter to a specific team member to review their activity.
Trace a specific change. Use the type filter to focus on one kind of change (for example, only Improvements or only Account Settings) and find when a budget, bid, or status was changed and what it changed from.
Keep a record for reporting. Export the Changelog to share a record of what's been done in an account with a client or for an internal audit.
Filtering the Changelog
Two filters help you find what you're looking for. The User filter narrows entries to everyone, to Opteo, or to a specific teammate. The type filter narrows entries to one or more of the categories above, so you can focus on (for example) only Improvements or only Account Settings changes.
Adding notes
You can add your own notes to the Changelog to record context that isn't captured automatically, such as a change you made directly in the ad platform or the reasoning behind a decision.
Click Add Note at the top of the page, or Add Note to Group to attach a note to a specific day
Enter your note
Save it
Your note appears in the timeline alongside everything else. You can edit your own notes at any time, but not notes added by other team members.
Exporting the Changelog
Click Export CSV to download the Changelog as it's currently filtered. The export reflects whatever User and type filters you have applied, so you can pull a focused record for a specific teammate, time period, or change type. This is useful for client reporting or keeping an audit trail.
