How to use Opteo's official Zapier integration

Written by Shaquira Jeyasingh

Opteo connects to Zapier, letting you build automated workflows between Opteo and the other tools in your stack, no code required. You can use Opteo as a trigger (to start a Zap when something changes in Opteo) and/or as an action (to update Opteo as part of a larger workflow).

The Opteo Zapier integration is currently in beta. Contact support to get connected. Once set up, find the Opteo app at zapier.com/apps/opteo/integrations.

Triggers

Triggers are events in Opteo that can start a Zap. Use them when you want Opteo to kick off a workflow in another tool.

Budget Updated

Fires when an ad account's monthly budget target is changed in Opteo. Use this to keep records in sync. For example, logging every budget change to a Google Sheet, or notifying your team in Slack whenever a target is updated.

New Linked Account

Fires when a new ad account is connected to Opteo. Use this to kick off onboarding tasks automatically. For example, adding a row to your budget sheet, alerting your team, or triggering a setup checklist.

Actions

Actions let a Zap make changes in Opteo. Use them to keep Opteo in sync with data that lives elsewhere, like a spreadsheet or a client planning tool.

Update Budget

Sets the monthly budget target for an ad account in Opteo. Opteo uses this figure for Budget Pacing and budget alerts. This does not change any budgets in your ad account, it only updates the target Opteo uses for tracking and pacing purposes.

Update Performance Goals

Sets the performance targets for an ad account: your target CPA (cost per acquisition) or target ROAS (return on ad spend), and the number of evaluation cycles Opteo uses when assessing results. Use this to keep Opteo's targets aligned with goals set elsewhere, for example, in a client-facing spreadsheet or your agency's planning tool.

Update Performance Mode

Switches an ad account between CPA mode and ROAS mode. This changes the metric Opteo optimises for when evaluating campaign performance and surfacing Improvements across the account.

Example Zaps

Here are some common ways to use the Opteo Zapier integration.

Sync budgets from a Google Sheet
Trigger: Updated Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets > Action: Update Budget in Opteo. When a budget value changes in your sheet, Opteo updates automatically. This is the most common use case, a single source of truth for budgets that flows into Opteo without manual entry.

Log new ad accounts
Trigger: New Linked Account in Opteo > Action: Create Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets. When a new ad account is connected to Opteo, it's automatically linked to your Account Centre.

Alert your team on budget changes
Trigger: Budget Updated in Opteo > Action: Send Channel Message in Slack. When a budget target is updated, your team gets a notification in Slack with the details.

Sync performance targets from a planning tool
Trigger: Updated Row in Google Sheets (or your CRM/planning tool) > Action: Update Performance Goals in Opteo. Keep Opteo's CPA and ROAS targets in step with whatever your team uses to manage client goals.
