Account Groups are shared across your whole team. Every ad account in a group stays visible inside that group for everyone, including ad accounts you're not personally linked to. Those appear with a note on their row letting you know you're not linked, and a Link Account prompt.
This can be confusing when you're trying to tidy up your Account Centre, so it helps to know how ad accounts are shared in Opteo:
Ad accounts belong to your team. Importing an ad account brings it into Opteo for everyone.
Linking controls whether Opteo works on an ad account. Linked ad accounts are analysed, generate Improvements, and count towards your plan limits. Linking applies to the whole team.
Connecting controls whether an ad account appears in your own Account Centre. Each person connects to the ad accounts they work on, so your view is your own.
Account Groups sit on top of this. A group is a portfolio, a client or brand plus all the ad accounts they run, and grouping unlocks group-level features like Group Performance. Because a group belongs to the whole team, it shows all of its ad accounts to everyone. A teammate might be working in an ad account you're not connected to.
Unlinking or disconnecting an ad account does not remove it from its Account Group. The ad account stays visible inside the group for the whole team until it's moved out of the group.
Removing an ad account from a group
Go to the Account Centre.
Click Settings in the top-right corner and switch on the Show Account Group column toggle. This adds a group drop-down at the end of each ad account's row.
If an ad account shows a Link Account prompt instead of the drop-down, click Link Account. The drop-down only appears on ad accounts in your personal view.
Use the drop-down to move the ad account to Ungrouped.
If you don't want Opteo working on the ad account, unlink it again from the Linked Accounts page.
Once an ad account is out of the group and unlinked, it no longer appears in your Account Centre. It stays available in the Unlinked tab of the Linked Accounts page if you need it again later.
Deleting an empty group
Once every ad account has been moved out, open Group Settings and delete the group from there. A group can only be deleted once it's empty. For everything else groups can do, see the Account Groups article.
