Save and reuse prompts in AI Chat

The Prompt Library is a store of reusable prompts inside AI Chat. Rather than rewriting the same instructions every time you start a new conversation, you can save prompts once and apply them in one click, across any ad account you manage.

There are two types of prompts: Saved Prompts, which are personal to you, and Team Prompts, which are shared across your Opteo account.

Saved Prompts

Saved Prompts are private to you. They're useful for prompts you reach for regularly. Things like weekly performance reviews, search term audits, or account-specific instructions you've refined over time.

Creating a saved prompt

  1. Open AI Chat and click the Prompt Library icon in the sidebar.

  2. Click Create prompt.

  3. Choose an icon and colour to help identify it quickly.

  4. Write your prompt title and body.

  5. Under Save to, select Saved Prompts.

  6. Click Save.

Using a saved prompt

Open the Prompt Library and click any prompt to load it into the chat input. Your most recently used prompts also appear at the top of a new chat for quick access.

Managing your prompts

From the Prompt Library, you can edit, duplicate, or delete any saved prompt. Duplicating is useful when you want a variation of an existing prompt without starting from scratch.

Team Prompts (admins only)

Team Prompts work like Saved Prompts, but shared. Admins can build a library of prompts that everyone on the team can access and use in AI Chat. Team members can use any prompt in the library, but only admins can create, edit, or delete team prompts.

This is particularly useful for agencies or larger teams - a team lead can build a solid set of prompts once, and team members who are less familiar with AI have a ready-made starting point.

Admin only: Creating and editing Team Prompts requires admin permissions. All team members can use them. To check who your admin is, click your avatar and go to Team Management.

Creating a team prompt

  1. Open AI Chat and click the Prompt Library icon.

  2. Click Create prompt.

  3. Write your prompt title and body.

  4. Under Save to, select Team Prompts.

  5. Click Save.

The prompt will appear in the Team Prompts tab for everyone on your Opteo account.

If you want to always save prompts at the team level, go to your Team Management settings and enable "Default to Team Prompts".

What makes a good prompt

A few things that tend to make prompts more reliable and reusable:

  • Be specific about what you want back. "Give me a summary" is harder to reuse than "Give me a three-sentence performance summary covering spend, conversions, and CPA versus last month."

  • Include any standing context that changes what a good answer looks like - your client's industry, their primary KPI, or any constraints you work within.

  • If a prompt took a few iterations to get right, save the final version. That's the one worth keeping.
