Creating and managing Account Groups

Learn how to create Account Groups to organise and manage multiple ad accounts.

Account Groups are perfect if you manage a mix of ad accounts — whether that’s across channels, clients, or regions. You can bundle related ad accounts into groups (like folders).

There are huge benefits of grouping:

  • See KPIs, spend, and budget pacing of related ad accounts side-by-side

  • Add target statements, brand terms, and competitor names to power AI insights

  • Pin your top group, for quick access

When you first connect accounts, they’ll appear in an ungrouped list. Creating groups brings structure to that list and makes it easier to manage.

Important: Any account groups you create will be visible across your whole team.

Creating a new Account Group

  1. Go to the Account Centre.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Create Group.

  3. Give the group a clear name and choose a colour.

  4. Search for the accounts you want to include and select them.

  5. Click Create Group to save.

Editing an Account Group

After creating an account group, you may decide you need to remove an account from it, or add another account into it. To move an account:

  1. Find it in the Account Centre.

  2. Use the drop-down at the end of its row to choose a new group.

What you’ll see inside each Account Group

Each account row displays:

  • Selected performance metrics (Spend, Conversions, CPA, ROAS, or Value)

  • Goal progress bar

  • Budget pacing indicator

  • Number of open issues & improvements

  • Last active date

Pinning Account Groups

To keep a key portfolio visible:

  1. Click Settings in the top-right corner

  2. Under Pinned Account Group, select the group you always want at the top

Account Group settings

Each account group has its own settings, which you can access by clicking Group Settings on the right. From there you can:

  • Rename or recolour the group

  • Add a target market statement, brand terms and competitor domains to fuel AI

  • Connect Google Analytics

  • Delete the group (only once all accounts have been moved elsewhere)

These settings help Opteo understand the context of your business, giving AI analysis and reporting more accuracy.

Collapsing Account Groups

To declutter your view, click the – icon next to any group name to collapse it. Click the + icon to expand again.
