What is the Zero Conversions alert?

The Zero Conversions Alert in Opteo is designed to notify you when a specific conversion action in your Google Ads account hasn’t recorded any conversions for several days in a row.

It helps flag potential performance drops, setup issues, or account changes that might be affecting your tracked conversion actions. But to avoid unnecessary noise, it uses a carefully designed set of rules to decide when to alert and when to hold back.

How Zero Conversions Alerts Work

We apply several checks before sending a zero conversions alert. These checks help reduce noise, and make sure we only alert when it really matters.

1. We wait for 5 days of zero conversions

We only trigger an alert if a conversion action has had zero conversions for yesterday and the 4 days before that.

This is because conversion data often lags—it’s tied to the click date, not when the conversion actually happened. So waiting a few days ensures we’re not flagging something that just hasn’t shown up yet.

2. We don’t alert if impressions are also zero

If there’s already been a zero impressions alert for that conversion action, we won’t send a zero conversions alert.

In most cases, no impressions explains no conversions, and a second alert would just be redundant.

3. We check the day-of-week pattern

We look at the same weekday over the past 4 weeks - for example, if we’re checking Thursday, we look at the last 4 Thursdays.

We calculate the average number of conversions for those days.

If the average is less than 10, we don’t send an alert. That usually means it’s a “low-volume” or “dead” conversion action where zero conversions isn’t surprising.

4. We Avoid Duplicate Alerts

If we’ve already triggered a zero conversions alert for the same conversion action in the past 4 days, we won’t trigger another one.

What this means for you

This system helps you focus on real issues, not false alarms. But it also means:

  • Alerts might not appear immediately, especially if conversions are just delayed.

  • You won’t get alerts for conversion actions that usually get low or no conversions.

  • If impressions are already flagged, we won’t double up with a conversions alert.
