What the monthly budget does

Your budget helps Opteo:

  • Track spend vs. target

  • Generate pacing alerts

  • Run budget-related audits in scorecards

  • Optionally pause campaigns when spend hits the limit

Entering a target budget in Opteo does not affect your live Google Ads budget settings.

How to set it

If you didn't enter a monthly budget during account set up, don't worry — there are two ways to add one:

Option 1: Via the Client settings

  1. Open the ad account in Opteo

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Scroll down to Monthly Budget

  4. Enter your target spend and click Update Budget.

Option 2: Via the Account Centre

  1. Go to your Account Centre (click the Opteo logo at the top left to get here)

  2. Find the ad account you wish to set a target budget for

  3. Click the grey cogwheel on the right

  4. Enter your target spend and click Update Budget.

You can also:

  • Tick “Pause spend when over budget” to let Opteo pause campaigns when limits are reached

  • Enter an acceptable variance (e.g. 10%) to give yourself a buffer, before we pause your campaigns
