What is the Changelog Email?

The Changelog Email is the Google (or Microsoft/Meta/LinkedIn) login that was used to connect Opteo to the ad account.

When Opteo applies a change — like adding a negative keyword — ad platforms log that change in its Change History, and attributes it to the user who connected the account.

That email address is shown in the Changelog Email column on the Linked Accounts page.

Where to find the Changelog Email

  1. Go to the Linked Accounts page

  2. Look for the Changelog Email column

This is especially helpful when you're reviewing Google Ads change logs and wondering which login shows up.

How to change the Changelog Email

To change which email appears in change logs:

  1. Use the drop down arrow in the Changelog column to select the another email address

  2. If you don't see the right email address available, it's because it is not connected to Opteo yet

  3. Click the Import MCC button to connect it

  4. Once connected, it should be available in the drop down

Why it matters

  • It helps you (or your clients) understand who made the change

  • It’s useful when you want a specific email to appear in logs

  • It ties together Opteo’s automations with Google’s change history for transparency

FAQs

Q: Will changing the Changelog Email affect teammates?
A: No — it only affects how changes are logged in Google Ads. User access in Opteo remains unchanged.

Q: Why is an unfamiliar email showing in change history?
A: It’s probably the login someone else used to connect Opteo to that account. You can update it by reconnecting with the right one.

Q: Can I have more than one Changelog email?
A: No — teams are only able to use one changelog email per ad account. For this reason, you may prefer to use a shared email (e.g. [email protected]).
